Learn from this Short Video of Executive Language for Use in Sales Cycle and Copywriting

If you have ever been suckered by the words "trust" in a sales cycle or marketing material but were really being asked to take an unproven and potentially disastrous "leap of faith"...

If you ever heard from your sales representative, or read in the presentation material the word "partner" and got stuck doing more of the work than you intended for less than expected results...

If you ever heard or read the word "collaborate" when the speaker/writer loosely meant "cooperate" and instead intended to and then delivered "compromise"...

Then watch this Vistage video. It hung up on me about 5 minutes in, but here's what I saw that makes it worth watching:
  • A better definition of what "to partner" means
  • What trust should really mean in business
  • That true collaboration translates into, "What can I do to solve my partner's problems"
  • Great things can happen when people and companies deliver on commitments
  • Sometimes a business objective can seem to run counter to what you want you want to accomplish, so you might need to rethink how to execute to align the two

Sure. It's a promo video.  But, it does help restore one's faith.  At least a little.

Here's the link to the original Vistage.com posting:  What Drives Great CEO Leaders?

There's a lesson in here.  Strong executive-speak language.  Take note.  Learn what it means and when to use it.  Important people will hear you and listen.

Have a great weekend and remember to be the hero,
Mark
