Copywriting Alert: Don't do this!  This article features one of the worst uses of a word in an article you may ever see in the opening sentence. The NYTimes website definition search for "profligate" asks if you mean to search for "spendrift". The site then offers the following definitions for "profligate" - "given over to dissipation, recklessly wasteful, wildly extravagant, lacking in moral restraint, a person who spends money or resources wastefully."  Read the article and let me know what copy you think might have worked better. Remember your Hershell Gordon Lewis: "Clarity beats clever everytime".
